Medical Insurance Attorneys - 4 Reasons to Have One
December 22nd, 2008 Filed Under Travel Insurance
Car Accident? Injured? Get a Free Attorney Consultation
When it comes to settling claims, having an experienced attorney fight your claim can make all the difference between success and failure. Here are the top four reasons to get an attorney consultation.

When it comes to settling claims, having an experienced attorney fight your claim can make all the difference between success and failure. Yet, people still shy away from consulting an attorney. Why? Is it because of some myths associated with them? If you need more proof to be less wary of consulting attorneys, here are the top four reasons:
Reason 1: Most initial accident or injury claim consultations are absolutely free, with no obligation to continue further legal counsel. So you do not have to hire the attorney no matter how many questions you ask about settlement tips, injury claims, etc. This should be enough reason to motivate you to see a qualified injury claims attorney for settlement tips.
Reason 2: By consulting an attorney, you are also exercising your right to speak to an attorney before you provide any information to the insurance company. If you plan on submitting a written statement before consulting an attorney, you could be harming your accident claims case without even realizing it.

Any negotiations with your insurance company before you consult an attorney can go against you in many ways. One important way is that the company pegs a certain settlement value to your claim, which is usually lower than compensation amount you deserve. Later, even if you engage an attorney, the provider will always bargain based on their ‘original’ settlement value.
Reason 3: No one can advise you about all the damages that you are entitled to better than an experienced attorney. He will also be able to inform you about the right parties and policies to file claims with, since such subtle legal changes make all the difference. With such appropriate knowledge, you will no doubt file your vehicle repair claim, medical claim, etc. with all the right parties.
Reason 4: Getting fair compensation from an insurance provider is rarely easy. The need of an experienced personal injury attorney to successfully resolve your case cannot be emphasized enough. In fact, there are studies that prove that insurance providers pay more compensation when the claimant has involved an attorney.
In other words, if you don’t want to hire an attorney because you think it’s a hassle, you are in for more trouble than if you have an experienced attorney on your side.

Personal Injury Attorney Selection is Critical
December 22nd, 2008 Filed Under Legal
Selecting The Right Personal Injury Lawyer Is Crucial
If you have been in a car accident and have suffered personal injury, it is well advised that you retain a lawyer to review your case. If you need help in how to select the right lawyer for your case, here are a few tips.
If you suffer an injury resulting from a car accident, you should immediately consult with an attorney. While you should be compensated for your injury, most insurance companies will do everything in their power not to compensate you or will offer a settlement way below what you might have received you had consulted a lawyer.
Negotiate with the insurance company, building your case, and taking your case to trial if necessary are the jobs of an experienced car accident or personal injury lawyer. You should not meet personally with the insurance company without your lawyer present. Insurance companies will do everything within their power to deny or minimize your benefits even to the point of obtaining statements from you that could jeopardize your case if you should decide to sue.
Finding just the right lawyer can be a challenging and time consuming task. Begin your search for your lawyer as soon as possible. A critical deadline called “statue of limitations” and other deadlines may give you a limited amount of time to take legal action.
The most important factor in selecting your lawyer is that you are comfortable speaking with him or her in the develoment of a good working relationship. This relationship is a vital key to the success of your case.

Working With Your Insurance Company in Dispute Resolution
December 22nd, 2008 Filed Under Travel Insurance
Settling Insurance Disputes after an Accident
Auto crashes are prevalent all over the states, including California. Since auto accidents involve substantial damages to property and injuries to victims, they are often followed by consequences.
![]()
One of the aftermaths of being involved in an auto crash is settling with insurance companies. You will inevitably have to deal with your own insurance company and the other party’s insurance company as well.
Auto insurance companies can be very messy to deal with. Their claims adjusters, who are skilled negotiators, can hassle you, intimidate you, and persuade you to settle for the lowest amount possible, which is definitely unfair. They also mean to discourage you in getting professional services from auto crash attorneys so they can make you agree with their terms and conditions without difficulty.
Filing an insurance claim and negotiating with claim adjusters can be such a nuisance. To avoid unpleasant disputes with insurance companies after an auto crash, here are some guidelines regarding insurance claims:
Contact your insurance company as soon as possible.
Review and understand your insurance policy. Determine what is covered by your insurance.
Know the full extent of your injuries and damages. Damages may include past and future expenses, such as, repair or replacement of a property, medical expenses, etc.
Save receipts and bills for all expenses relating to the accident that may be demanded from the other insurance company and covered from yours.
Collect as much pertinent evidences as possible. This will help you prove your insurance claim. Having statements from witnesses will be very useful.
Take note of the insurance information of the other people involved in the accident, such as their names and contact numbers.
Keep a written account of all negotiations you have made with the insurance officers, agents, claim adjusters, and other people involved with the insurance claim. This way, you will remember what deals you have made and what you have discussed with them regarding your claim.
Be honest with the insurance investigators so that your claim is not denied for fraudulent reasons.
Do not admit to any fault. Just stick to the truth without asserting your opinion.
Do not sign any legal paper that is handed to you by the other insurance company. Wait until your attorney has reviewed the papers.
Do not let the time limitation in filing your insurance claims expire. All insurance companies impose a certain time period in filing claims after the accident.
Do not engage in any form of discussion with the claim adjuster of the other’s insurance company. If they call you, use the time to listen. You do not have to agree or argue with them.
Never give an oral statement with the other person’s insurance company.
Do not rely on the estimates of losses the insurance companies tell you. Do an estimate of your own, or get the help of your auto crash attorney in evaluating this.
Do not accept any check as a full and final payment. Make sure that you will be getting maximum compensation from the insurance company. Verify the amount of damages with your attorney.
Check if you have other insurance policies.
Although not particularly necessary, having an attorney whom you can consult with regarding insurance claims can assist you a lot. There may be some details in the insurance policy that you overlooked or failed to understand. The other insurance company may take advantage also of the fact that you do not have an attorney.
Do not concern yourself in handling all the tasks of filing your claims on your own. It will be easier on you if you have someone who can help you.
It is also a fact that auto crash attorneys can negotiate for the highest possible value a person may get from insurance. Experienced lawyers can settle for many times the number of what claimants can negotiate for themselves.

Attorney Representation in Medical Insurance Claims
December 22nd, 2008 Filed Under Travel Insurance
Medical Insurance Coverage and Attorney Representation
The United States federal government has sponsored several social insurance programs that give benefits to qualified citizens. These programs are designed all for giving benefits and protection to well-qualified sectors of society. The classic example of these programs includes the Social Security, Medicare, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) program, the railroad retirement program and the state-sponsored unemployment insurance programs.
This article will mean to explain in a comprehensible manner all about medical insurance (Medicare). Specifically the article will tackle basic points regarding the coverage of this social insurance program of the federal government including the value of Attorney representation and guidance in matters of claims, coverage and complaints.
All about Medical Insurance Program (Medicare)
I. History
Medicare is a social insurance program administered by the United States government that insures indigent recipients. The Medicare as well as its companion program Medicaid is signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson as amendments to Social Security legislations. Later on, up until now, this program had undergone series of changes and overhauling. The changes relates to the features, coverage and exact definition of covered citizens who may come to avail of this social benefit.
![]()
Originally, Medicare program has two parts, that is: Part A (Hospital Insurance), and Part B (Medical Insurance). Later on, with the changes, Medicare Part C and Part D were introduced extending more benefits and comprehensive health insurance protection to the aged, disabled, and those with end-stage kidney disease.
II. Eligibility
Medicare is a Health Insurance Program for:
People age 65 or older
People under age 65 with certain disabilities
People of all ages with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant)
III. Parts of the Medicare program
As laid above, the original Medicare program is composed of Parts A and B. However, with the passing of time, the coverage was broadened having introduced Parts C and D.
In brief, the Medicare Plans are composed of the following:
Medicare hospital insurance (Part A) helps pay for inpatient hospital care, inpatient care in a skilled nursing facility, home health care, and hospice care.
Medicare medical insurance (Part B) helps pay for physician services, outpatient hospital services, outpatient physical therapy, other medical services that are medically necessary, and supplies and equipment that are covered by Part A.
Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C) are plans offered by private companies that contract with Medicare to provide all Medicare Part A and Part B benefits. This has been constituted with the passage of the Balance Budget Act of 1997. Medicare Advantage Plans gives beneficiaries the option to receive their Medicare benefits through private health insurance plans instead of through the original Medicare plan (Parts A and B). Medicare Advantage Plans are HMOs, PPOs, or Private Fee-for-Service Plans. Some plans also offer prescription drug coverage.
The Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit (Part D) provides outpatient prescription drug coverage for the aged and disabled. This went into effect on January 1, 2006. In order to receive this benefit, a person with Medicare must enroll in a stand-alone Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) or Medicare Advantage plan with prescription drug coverage (MA-PD). Unlike Original Medicare (Part A and B), Part D coverage is not standardized.
IV. Medicare situations and facts
The issue of dis entitlement of Medicare has been the constant problems of most claimants, since the inception of this social insurance program. On several occasions, contentions respecting claims dis entitlement beset administrative agencies tasked to implement the program.
It is accounted for dis entitlement happened because of lack of proper guidance and representation in claiming this federal benefit. Most claimants have no real inkling on the mechanics of proper claims including its substantiation. To say, the lack of proper guidance of a Medical Insurance Attorney is wanting.
V. Attorney representation
Everybody wants to get the most of social security benefits including the Medical insurance and Medicare coverage. However, this can hardly be attained when proper guidance and representation of a Medical Insurance Attorney is lacking.
Just like any other claims for benefits, medical insurance claim needs to undergo considerations of a good lawyer. In order to harness a substantial claim that is both viable and workable, an adeptly qualified lawyer is required all for leading to a successful benefit claims.

Online trip insurance comparison simplifies purchasing coverage
Buying trip insurance online is the quickest and most effective way to find appropriate holiday coverage.
As your vacation approaches, you’ll want to start thinking about your holiday plans in detail. You might have already picked your destination, booked your flights and secured your accommodations - but have you really covered every possible aspect of your holiday plans? The chances are you haven’t yet thought about travel insurance, especially if your holiday is still a couple of months away. However, the earlier you think about buying travel insurance, the better; and buying travel insurance online is sure to help you find the most appropriate holiday coverage.
Traditionally, travellers would buy insurance from a bank on the street or via a travel agent. But the widespread proliferation of the internet in recent years means that online travel insurance sites - run by travel agents, large insurance companies and independents - have shot up in number. Buying your travel insurance online holds a number of advantages for the consumer - not the least of which is the fact that you’ll be able to think about which travel insurance option is right for you without being pressured by salespeople.
Browse any online travel insurance provider’s site and you’ll be able to compare benefits to see which policy is best for you. For instance, if you’re planning a week’s trip to Paris to sample some of France’s best art museums, galleries, and to get a taste of fine French dining, it’s unlikely you’ll need anything more than a basic travel insurance package. This will usually cover essential items, such as your passport, baggage, personal items and a limited amount of medical coverage.
However, if you’re hoping to head off to the French Alps on a skiing holiday, you’ll need special winter sports cover. This will insure your expensive skiing or snowboarding equipment and, if it is a quality policy, it will protect you against any unexpected developments in your holiday, including avalanche closure, hotel closure and even physiotherapy if you return from your vacation with an injury.
What’s more, if you opt for online travel insurance, you’ll find that your coverage can insure more than just accidents and mishaps: for instance, if you’re a scientist, journalist or researcher who’s travelling on an expedition to a dangerous region, or if you are visiting a Pacific Island at risk from volcanic eruption, or if you’re a businessman and you want to protect your business documents and samples from being lost or stolen.
With such a wide variety of concerns to think about on your holiday, it’s important that you consider your options carefully before you choose which travel insurance policy is right for you. Buying your travel insurance online allows you to do this in comfort and with ease - so why delay any longer! Get your holiday cover online and set your mind at ease.

Travel Insurance Quotes: As Important as Your Passport for Any …
December 20th, 2008 Filed Under Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance Quotes: As Important as Your Passport for Any Trip Abroad
One of the more popular ways to get an insurance quote these days is online, where many companies compete for your business. Caution is advised, however, when dealing with an online insurance company, because it is very easy for any company to appear larger and more reputable than they really are. Not to say that smaller insurance companies are necessarily bad, but care must be taken to ensure you are dealing with a company that can handle a claim, should the need arise.
The best way to find out whether on not you can rely on your travel insurance company is to go over all the details of the package as carefully as you can. Find out who the underwriter is for the company, as this is really who ends up paying out should you need to make a claim. There are only a handful of major insurance underwriters, and as long as your insurance company is affiliated with one of them you probably don’t have to worry.
Travel insurance quotes are also usually available through your local bank. This is a great way to get coverage for your trip, as not only can you rely on your bank’s reputation, the insurance is easily obtained and can be paid straight out of your bank account. Having a history with the bank helps in your dealing with them overall, and in the event of a claim this should help things go smoothly.
The language of travel insurance contracts is often very dense, and requires a bit of time to go through. This, however, is time well spent, because often there are variable in the contract that can be addressed if they don’t particularly suit your needs. The kind of insurance package you require depends very much on the kind of trip you are taking. For instance, a business trip with a few days of golf is going to be very different than a trekking vacation in the Himalayas, and your insurance should reflect that. Don’t just opt for a blanket package, read through it and make sure that the kinds of activities you are going to engage in are not excluded from the package. If you run a chance of getting an injury from a particular activity, or have a higher likelihood of getting ill because of a location you are visiting, then you must be sure your insurance coverage is effective for these possibilities.
The length of the term is another area to look at. Give yourself a buffer, in case of flight delays or other complications. The cost to you will be minimal, but the extra coverage will be helpful if a delay does occur. It has been known to happen that people are injured on the very last day of a trip. If you are not necessarily on a tight schedule, than make sure you can extend your insurance should you decide to stay. This can be set up in advance with your insurance company, and will require only a ‘phone call and bank withdrawal for coverage.
Another area these days to look at for travel insurance quotes is your credit card company. Many credit card companies now offer lots of extra perks, including, in some cases, insurance. These are generally not adequate coverage to rely on completely, but often can be a good addition to your insurance. Check with your company before you travel.
The task of getting travel insurance quotes may not be one that most travellers relish, but it is as important as bringing your passport. In fact, some countries require proof of insurance before they will even admit visitors into their country. The good news is that getting quotes, and obtaining insurance, is incredibly easy and convenient these days. There is no excuse to travel without coverage, so do your homework before you leave and enjoy peace of mind for your whole journey.

What are the best health insurance companies?
December 19th, 2008 Filed Under Travel Insurance
Finding The Best Medical Health Insurance Companies With Affordable Family Health Insurance Plans?
Start by doing some comparison shopping.
The Internet gives you easy access to an enormous number of health insurance companies. Select several companies from your search and get an online quote. Nearly all of the sites will provide the simple application form. To make filling in the forms a little easier you will find it helpful to write down some basic information about yourself and your family’s medical history before starting your search.
Once you have a number of insurance quotes, compare them. Pick those that look suitable on first impression and then consider the coverage that each plan provides as compared to the coverage and price you are looking for.
When reviewing the quote you should be aware of some of the most common pitfalls. For example, you might find that there Finding the best health insurance company with an affordable family health insurance plan is not as easy as it used to be but, it is not impossible. You can still find the coverage you need as long as you know how to go about it.
Some Precautions
There are a large number of great looking deals around with extremely affordable premiums but, on investigation, you may discover that these affordable premiums only apply to the first year of coverage. In subsequent years your premiums may rise considerably.
Another common problem with many of the discount or low premium plans is that the health insurance company will either ask you to pay a substantial number of your medical bills before they will begin to pay out, or will pay only a small percentage of each bill. In the vast majority of cases you will be required to contribute towards your medical costs. This cost can be typically 10% to 20% of each bill. To elicit an even lower monthly premium, they may increase your contribution to as much as 30% or 40% of each bill. This can result in costing you a considerable sum in the long run.
You may also discover that many companies offer low premiums as long as you have a "clean claims slate". Once a claim is made against the policy however, your premiums will rise considerably when it comes time for policy renewal.
Many plans will attempt to lure you with the huge range of claims that they might potentially cover. All of these "bells and whistles" come at a cost…a cost you do not nead to bear. If your family is reasonably young, healthy, in good shape, practices "preventative medicine", and has not recently had to visit your doctor for something serious, then you might consider selecting a plan that covers accidents, emergencies, hospital bills and the costs associated with surgical treatment.
Rather than select a plan that appears to be the biggest and best, select a policy that suits your needs. By taking out only the insurance that you need you will reduce your costs . If, at some future date, you want to have all of the ‘bells and whistles" then you can always increase you coverage as your finances permit.
Finding the best medical health insurance companies that offer affordable family medical health plans is not easy but, with a little bit of time and effort on the internet, it is certainly not impossible to find the affordable family health insurance plan that you need.

Short-Term Health Insurance
December 19th, 2008 Filed Under Travel Insurance
Short term Health Insurance
Short term health insurance serves as a temporary insurance solution for a relatively short time span and is meant for healthy persons who do not intended to cover pre-existing conditions.
As the name denotes, short term health insurance policies are a temporary insurance solution. Generally, most of the short term health insurance policies offer coverage up to 12 months. In a few cases however, some policies offer coverage up to 3 years.
These policies are specifically designed for those healthy persons and families who do not intended to get coverage for their pre-existing conditions. In fact, short term health insurance can offer a very good low cost safety package in the event of any injury or illness developed during its coverage term.
The benefits of these insurance policies can be wide ranging as most of the plans offer 1 million dollar coverage per person. As more and more people are inclined to join this safety net of 16 million people in the US, the competition in the sector has become fierce resulting in very low premiums.
Low premiums have been one of the major appeals of short term health insurance policies. But here you have to remember one thing that these low cost plans are not designed to cover any pre-existing conditions or ailments of the covered individual. Because of this limitation it is feasible for these insurance companies to offer such a low cost plan. The definition of pr-existing conditions can be done as the symptoms occur during the three year period prior to the start of the insurance policy.
It is always better to remain honest and mention the pre-existing conditions if there are any. Otherwise, you may lfind yourself in the awkward position where your claims are all denied. All short term insurance policies have their own list of limitations and exclusions. It is always advisable to go through this list before choosing your coverage policy.
Targeted Clients
Due to its high coverage limits and low monthly installments, the sales graph of short term health insurance policies has been shooting upwards of late. In the health insurance industry, short term insurance policies stand as the shortest application. Now days many insurance companies also offer credit card payment plans. Hence, for a certain section of the healthy community, this serves as the best option.
Persons doing part time jobs or the temporary employees are the most likely persons to benefit from such policies. As most of the corporate insurance plans do not cover part timers or temporary employees, short term health insurance can be the best option for them.
Short term health insurance policies are also beneficial for those individuals are temporarily out of work. Thus people between jobs are one of the most likely consumers of these policies. Under the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) individuals who are laid off or are between jobs are permitted to continue their policies with their previous employer for three years.
Another group of consumers that can benefir from short term coverage are recent college graduates. Many graduates have no coverage between graduation and finding their first job. Short term insurance can fill this void for them until they land a job that offers medical coverage.
So in short if you are healthy, unemployed, or doing part time work, going to school, just graduated, getting early retirement, or leaving home for the first time you are a potential consumer for short term health insurance.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for short term health insurance policies you must comply with some conditions.
1. Your age should be below 65.
2. You shouldn’t be covered by another health insurance policy.
3. You should not have ever been denied health insurance previously.
4. Every short term health insurance policy comes with its own set of qualifying conditions such as height and weight requirements.
Things which are not covered by Short Term Plans
In order to keep the premiums low these short term plans don’t offer all the benefits of regular health insurance plans. As mentioned above they don’t cover treatment of pre-existing ailments. Moreover these plans don’t include routine and regular medical checkups, dental or optical care, preventive care, or pregnancy expenses.
All short term insurance policies are excluded from Health Insurance Portability and Accountability act of 1996. These companies are not required to guarantee a policy renewal.
Although there are many limitations and restrictions, short term health insurance policies can assist you in filling the voids in your coverage of health insurance. And that is where its significance lies!
